Tough, mine are used on a highrise construction site and are working fine. Great, little radios. I will buy more.
Although I have not tested them over more than my house, they provide clear, constant communication over a long battery life. My seven year old has had hours of fun with these and I am so glad we did not buy child-branded radios. These work really well. The 'roger bleep' avoids the need to say 'over' when you have finished speaking, and they are far better than most toy walkie talkies.
They even came w/their own batteries. Other than that the product worked as described. The walkie talkies were great for the price offered. My only problem was that there was no headset connectivity.
It has a range less then 1 block. I never had a product like this. The batteries are swallow up quickly and the transmission is poor.
I bought 2 packs of these so all 4 boys could talk while doing whatever it is that little boys do with walkie-talkies. I was wrong.
If you are using them for "just around the house," then you'll be quite happy with them. They made it just past the end of our street (less than a quarter of a mile) before we lost contact.
We tried them one day while my husband took the boys to the park (about 3.5 miles from home). On the plus side, they are very sturdy and look real cool.
I bought these for my son for his birthday. I thought with a 12 mile radius they would be great.
I tried replacing all the batteries to see if that was the problem, but it didn't change anything.
